Sunday Funday = BBQ Brunch
I am constantly on the prowl for great spots in and around Manhattan that serve up delicious brunch, palatable prices, and most importantly, killer bloody maries. I recently found a new favorite with all of the above.
Bone Lick Park in Greenwich Village is known for its bbq and one of the best happy hours in the area with $3.50 mojitos and margaritas 7 days a week. $12.95 gets you brunch +...

iPod Touch Gloves
Whatever sadness I have in my heart over not having an iPhone, subsides in the Winter when I am reminded that my phone’s subpar technological capabilities still allow me to wear gloves while dialing calls. That was of course, until Dots Gloves
(pictured here) came around. The gloves, in wool or knit, start at $15 and come with a small metal pearl attached to each finger which is supposed to...
Uncouth Hearts...Sephora by OPI in Metro Chic
This color was all the rage this past fall, and after applying it to one thumb nail while waiting for a friend at the Sephora on 34th St (who doesn’t do this?), I am bringing it back for late Winter/Spring. Why? Other than its already much touted ease of application and anti-chipping properties, this Uncouther is sick and tired of looking at seas of black, chocolate cherry and navy nails on...

Today marks the start of the Year of the Ox! The Chinese Lunar New Year, which this year is today, January 26, marks a fresh start for many and is often celebrated by wearing new clothes, getting a fresh hair cut and adorning everything in the color red (representing wealth, good luck and success). Get your Chinese Lunar New Year on, and expose yourself to a little culture, by attending one of...
SONG OF THE MOMENT: This song came out awhile ago but it is just the right vibe to get you through the rest of the week. Besides, who doesn’t love some Solange?
Sweet Revenge
When it comes to cupcakes in New York, there are two schools of thought: those who love the buttery-cream goodness and long lines of Magnolia Bakery or those who love the candy topped, giant confections and convenience of Crumbs Bakeshop. We UncouthGirls have never ascribed to the belief that you have to choose one way of thinking over another and in a city like New York, literally saturated in...

Heros in our midst
Us Uncouth Girls aren’t at all serious but when something truly heroic happens, we have to take note. After Friday’s crash landing in the Hudson, we have all heard about pilot Chesley Sullenberger who miraculously avoided tragedy by keeping his wits about him in the face of danger and getting all 155 passengers on US Airways Flight 1549 to safety. Sullenberger deserves to be lauded but...
