Uncouth in the City

Orange is the new black!

Orange, the color of hunger awareness, is the new black. During this time of economic strife, food pantries around the country are becoming barren. In the Big Apple alone, nearly 1.3 million people rely on soup kitchens and food banks to sustain themselves each week. The NYC Food Bank needs you! Donate easily at their website, wear orange to promote hunger awareness and get the word out.

If you are like us, and we assume you are, you worry about how you can help when you are in need of help yourself. The Food Bank’s kitchens and pantries all across the city can always use volunteers. So get your friends together, gather co-workers (and impress your bosses with your concern for the community) and get out there! Because doing nothing is not an option.
